Description

This is for :iconadmoneo:

By the way, the reason why I upload her new app sheet in here is because I had some problems with the previous one--I couldn't edit the words and it was error. The difference between this app and the old app is in the written part, I fixed the grammar and added some things. This is her relationship journal d-for-duchess.deviantart.com/j…

=====================================================================

:bulletpurple: Personality:

:star: | Passive |

Don’t expect her to start a conversation, unless you’re carrying interesting book/books that intrigue her, or, if she catches you messing with the books—that is definitely not going to be pretty. She appears distant and rather cold towards everyone; even when you talk to her, she’ll only give you a short response. But when she ‘clicks’ with someone, she’ll be more than happy to be friends with them. The reason why she’s being like this is explained on her next trait below.

:star: | Sarcastic |

She likes to throw sarcastic comments on people, not because she’s cocky or anything but mainly because she’s too honest, and it’s her reflexes. Also, it’s because her father is still doing this a lot until now and, as a good child, she imitates him too well. This trait, though, is gradually giving her some trouble since people often misunderstand and mistake her as an arrogant kid. It’s so hard to get along with people who are not her family, and so that’s why she appears passive. Usually, a five minute conversation with her is enough to make somebody dislike her.

:star: | Bookworms |

She really loves books, literally. If she’s not going to find a good man to marry later, she’s going to marry one of her best collections, she said that once to her grandfather. Some of her favorite spots on earth are libraries. She always takes care of her or even anyone’s books with affection, and she always brings a “book-aid-kit” pouch (she named it herself) which consist of spello-tape and some leather strips. If, somehow she sees you messing with one of the books – or worse, ruining them – she’ll definitely get really pissed off and you better get ready for some of her lengthy lectures. Or, if you insist that you’re not guilty (while you actually are) be careful with some of her jinxes and spells: she’s really good at making you feel…  uncomfortable for the next three days or even a week, depending on your level of misbehavior.

:star: | Vigilante-like and bossy |

Sometimes she thinks she’s always right – what she sees is what it really is – she refuses to consider other available options and insists that what she does is right and everything else is wrong. She will leave you if you keep arguing with her, although at the end of the day she will realize that she is not entirely right after all and will start to socialize with you again to show that she feels sorry for doubting you. She also has high ambitions and is highly perfectionist. So, if you are on the same group with her, don’t expect yourself to be so carefree – she will rain on you with her lengthy lectures and criticisms on how you behave and work things out, although she actually means well.

:star: | Advanterous and Curious |

Both of these traits are passed down in her family. Her grandfather from her mother’s side was a healer in Saint Mungo, while both her parents are archeologists. However, her mother works in archeology of magic whereas her father in archeology of the human world, if you know what I mean. Lol. So, basically she was raised in the family of researchers and adventurers. She is already familiar with riddles and mysteries since God knows when. Hogwarts is like a playground for her; it’s so big and vast, so even if she doesn’t have anyone in school she can truly get herself involved with (except her cat), she can always explores the castle and its surroundings with her cat. She keeps a log journal of her adventurous quests and brings it anywhere with her. Nobody has actually ever seen nor even stolen a glance on what’s inside it. She’s extremely careful and protective about it. So, are you going to be the first to read it or sneak a peek?

But actually, so far she has never really encountered anything that is really massive and beyond extraordinary. However, if she continues, especially alone, who knows what she will encounter in the future? Too much curiosity can actually kill the cat.

:star: | Independent |

Yes, she can take care of herself pretty well and so far she doesn’t need any extra protection. She also handles everything quite well, both physically and mentally, considering what she’s been through and experienced. This makes her quite mature for her age.

:star: | Diligent and Dutiful |

She likes to keep her schedule on track. She studies a lot and spends 50% of her life in the library at Hogwarts 10% for sleeping and resting, 5% for socializing, and 35% for exploring. That’s why she gets above average in most of her classes. She’s not the smartest student or even a prodigy, but she’s doing more than well to make her family proud. She always submits her essay or her homework to the professors on time, she always come early to class and usually is the last one to leave the class, considering she takes a lot of notes. Being late, cheating in exam, and neglecting homework, are taboos for her, it’s a disgrace.

:bulletpurple: Background:

Vera was born in the family of archeologists. Her father is originally an American, and her mother is a British; they both met during an expedition collaboration between the magic and the Muggle world. Actually, her father still didn’t know about her mother identity until two months before they’re getting married. It created a bunch of drama, or so she told, but despite all odds they eventually exchanged vows.

Vera soon became a part of their life, and at the age of two, she started travelling around the world with both of them. They used to bring her to their digging / research sites. They taught her many things, showed her a tiny part of beauty in this small world, and she was attracted, fascinated, and absorbed in all of them. One day, she decided she wanted to become like her parents, to be the one that is able to uncover the mysteries of this world.

She was homeschooled and she interacted with people who were much older than her. She even got used to her parents arguing over a stupid chopped statue head, a formless artifact, or even a simple toothbrush. She enjoyed it when they were arguing because they looked cute, and as their child she knew that it’s how her parents show their affections towards each other, they were not actually really fighting. They could bash each other all day, but at night Vera always caught them laughing and dancing under the starlight. It was so beautiful, peaceful, familiar, and perfect—she didn’t want it to end.

Until eventually, one day, both the government and the Ministry of Magic decided to send her parents to a dangerous expedition, so her parents had no choice but to left Vera in the hands of her grandfather to remain safe. So, Vera started living with her grandfather at the age of 8, in a small and comfy cottage near the shore of Barafundle bay beach. She really loves the old man for being very caring, attentive, and understanding towards her; he even became her most favorite person in the world. Unlike her distant cousin, Dillon, who was a bit mean. He liked to pull a lot of pranks to her and didn’t even apologize after that.

But Vera’s biggest problem was in her school. She had a lot of difficulties to interact with the children around her because of her nature and her way of thinking, which was surely was out of their league. So she didn’t have any friends, and even some of them called her a weirdo. She didn’t mind, she didn’t get sad; she just didn’t get it. The adults around her used to be so calm about the way she spoke, they could even make a joke out of it. But those kids were so sensitive until some of them were crying after they talked to her and she didn’t even know why.

She came home crying after six months of being misunderstood in her school. Dillon saw her and for the first time, he talked to her like a normal cousin should. “Just think of something beautiful to get rid of those bad thoughts,” he said as he pat her head, and after that he left her for a football practice. Dillon was never mean to her again ever since, but he didn’t exactly become any friendlier either.

Taking his advice, Vera always thought about beautiful things whenever she got sad, and oddly, she could create a small flower out of thin air. She was both scared and fascinated by her own power, but she decided to keep it a secret from anyone because she didn’t want to cause more trouble. Months went by and her power was getting stronger, she could create up to ten or fifteen small flowers when she was nine, with different sizes and colors. One day in winter, when she was ten, she felt so upset about her history teacher who gave the wrong information to the students. Vera argued with him in the class, and the teacher gave her a detention in return.

She took her anger into sleep and after that, she almost died in tomorrow morning. She suddenly couldn’t breathe, and when she realized everything was already dark and she was choking. One of her hand was still free and shot up, and she tried to reach anything so she’d be able to pull herself up. But whatever it was that was drowning her was getting bigger that her hand started to be buried in it too. She yelped for her grandfather, she cried her cousin’s name.

Thankfully, sometime later she felt someone grasping her hand tightly. “Anya, you have to control your feelings! Listen to me, Anya!” she heard Dillon’s voice but it’s not really helping. “Merlin’s beard!” she heard her grandfather yelled in shock. “Grandpa, hurry, she’s drowning!” she heard Dillon hurried her grandfather and she still had no idea about what happened.

“You get here, Verania!” and she barely comprehended but the next thing she knew, something yanked her from in there, she flew midair and went straightly to her grandfather’s embrace. “You get here too, Dillon!” and the next thing she knew, Dillon already stumbled besides her, looking bewildered. She looked back and her eyes widened in shock. She was almost drowned in a pile of flowers!

Reducto!” and in a snap, there’s a blast in the middle of the room and all the flowers and some part of her bed, was gone. “Really, grandpa? Don’t you have another spell?” Dillon asked half mockingly between his irregular breathing. “I was panic, and you’re also not helping!” her grandfather protested at him, and Vera just realized that he was holding a stick, or a wand, to be precise. She remembered that he swung that stick when he called for Dillon. “You said I’m not allowed to use my powers until I get to a wiz-school!” Vera heard Dillon shooting back in annoyance. “Wait!” eventually she yelled to both of them. “What spell?? What powers?? What just happened??” and bombarded them with question. Dillon ignored her, he just sighed tiredly and leaned his back on the wall. But their grandfather kneeled in front of her, he set aside the stick, caressed her arms, kissed her cheek and whispered softly. “Solange, darling, you are a witch,” he said.

She still couldn’t believe it, she thought he was only joking, but then her mother apparated before her and after everything she saw in the past when she was still with her parents, she considered that, in fact, it might be true after all. That she is indeed different, because she’s a witch.

After that, Vera was trained to control her energy and powers by her grandfather. She was still allowed to get to the school, but she mustn’t lose her temper, and she had to stick to Dillon no matter what.

And at the age of eleven, came the owl and the invitation from Hogwarts. And thus began her solo adventure, for the first time—right after she was sorted into the house of Ravenclaw.

During her first year, her greatest achievement in her exploration was that when she found a ghoul statue in the third floor that could always pick its nose once every 3 a.m. and 9 p.m. In second year, her greatest achievement was when she found out about the room of requirement and spent half of her time to look for it. She eventually found it after some ghost took a pity of her and told her that there is another good library in the seventh floor. She went straight for it and realized after that it was the place she was looking for. In her third year, her cat helped her found out about a mysterious howling in the Forbidden Forest that only happened at midnight every 27 in each month. She wanted to know what it was, but even for her, she took a lot of consideration for that action especially because Forbidden Forest is a very dangerous place, so she eventually put it off for now.

:bulletpurple: Family:

 Ethan DesrosiersGrandfather (pureblood), formerly working and known as one of the best healers in Saint Mungo, and he attended Hogwarts many years ago as a member of the Slytherin house. He really loves Vera and Dillon (even though this boy is a very distant relative of his) unconditionally, he’s actually the one person that’s able to make them feel that they’re at peace in their own home, and gives them a sense of how to be childlike and just enjoy being a child. He always says to both of them that with great knowledge, great responsibility will come too, and hopes that his grandchildren will remember and someday will understand it. He likes to call Vera as Solange, the given name of hers when she was born, and often called Dillon as Lion, just to joke around with him.

 Lorcan BellrossFather (muggle), he is an archeologist and he’s very good in that field. He has a a sarcastic sense of humor and his words are sharp, a gift that he inherits to Vera. Unlike her stern mother, Lorcan likes to joke around and sometimes is a bit laid back, always earning a glare from his beloved wife. However, he’s a very serious and a strong person inside. He is a tall, wicked genius, with innocent face (even in his early fourties), raven hair and bluest eyes. Vera’s personality is very similar to that of her father. He likes to buy some newest Muggle gadgets for Vera, Dillon, and even his father in law even though he knows that they don’t really need it, and while his wife is mad about it, the other three members of his family seems delighted. He was an America citizen but then changed his nationality a month before he got married. Even though he’s a Muggle but he knows some strings in how to deal with wizards, thanks to his wife and his father in law, and mostly because he practices it himself just in case.

 Nakia BellrossMother (pureblood), formerly a Beauxbaton Academy student. Vera inherits her golden hair from her mother’s blood line. The woman was the smartest and the fairest during her school year. Even so, she always looks rather cold and scary. She has such a stern personality, a bit hard headed, and she can be very bossy—she’s the total opposite of her husband who describes these three main traits of hers as annoying, and she actually inherits these traits to Vera, especially when the teen gets mad and angry. But Nakia is actually very kind and gentle, and she’s also very attentive about her family welfare. She fell in love with Lorcan after one dance at the expedition farewell party, and the first time Lorcan ever saw her cry was when Vera was born. She worries a lot about Dillon and even gets more worried when Vera is spending a lot of times with him. She tries not to judge or think too hard about that boy, but sometimes she just can’t help to feel uneasy and fear him.

 Dillon Desrosiers - Distant Cousin, right now he is studying in Durmstrang on his fourth year. Dillon is a very distant relative to Vera, although they still share the same golden hair and sometimes is mistaken as a non-identical twins and surname. Their position in the family tree is separated by seven columns, and they might as well know each other as someone from a different family. He grew a strong dislike for Vera when they first met and the girl still doesn’t know why even until now. Vera wondered what happened to him or his parents; why he has to live with their grandfather, who is actually his very distant grandfather. But her mother told her that it’s not the time for her to know yet. She told her that Dillon will tell her himself when he’s ready. But judging from the look in Dillon’s eyes, his cold and stony expression, and the way he smirks even though she knows that he actually wants to smile, Vera can guess that it’s not a very good story. It’s hard to say that Dillon is in friendly term with her, because his words are still cold and sometimes he only gives her a curt nod. But at least he talks to her often and has stopped pulling off pranks on her. He called her Anya from Ania, and he often tease her by calling her Goldie with a slight touch of his fingers on her hair that reminds her that he used to call her that while yanking her hair, and he calls her his twin when he’s in the mood for joking. Meanwhile, Vera likes to call him ‘lion hair’ for his extra messy hair, especially when he just woke up. He’s a bit taller than her now, and she wonders what the girls like in him because they always giggle and whisper to each other every time they look at him. When they meet every year for holidays or vacation, he always tells Vera about his Quidditch team in Durmstrang and his position as a keeper while Vera tells him about her discoveries in Hogwarts. Vera once asked him why he didn’t just go to Hogwarts with her, and he smiled at her and simply answered “So that your mother can have a peaceful mind.” They grow closer in their own way and even though he used to bully her, Vera doesn’t really mind it because now he likes to take care of her in his own odd way, and they also send owl mails to each other regularly. She starts to get used to consider him as her brother.

=====================================================================

:bulletpurple: Likes and dislikes:

+ Books & Libraries.

+ History.

+ Quidditch (she always roots for the beaters!).

+ Spending time with her family.

+ Paper’s smell (especially the new and the old ones).

+ Historical places or an open field so she can see the bright blue sky at daylight or the starry sky at night time.

+ Vanilla milkshake (to accompany her while she's studying, and with extreme amount of sugar in it) and tamarind sweets (its’ sour taste can keep her awake when she needs it). Her favorite foods are her grandfather’s homemade food especially his fish and chips, and also Dillon’s cheese puffs.

+ Exploring the castle in hope she’ll encounter something interesting or knowledge worthy

X Someone who doesn’t appreciate books and violate them. Or someone who is a bully.

X Numbers or arithmancy.

X Being caught when exploring and restricted to go there again (especially after she saw something interesting).

X When her parents tells (or scolds) her to study more in math, and when they say that they’d like to get a divorce—even when they don’t actually mean it.

X When Dillon put his fingers on her hair and caresses them.

X When her grandfather is smoking.

X Her mother’s cooking. Lol. Oh, and she can’t tolerate anything that is too spicy.

X Butterflies *grins*

:bulletpurple: Elective classes:

Study of Ancient Runes | Care of Magical Creature because she dislikes Arithmancy and she has a lack of faith in divination, so basically she doesn’t have any other choices

:bulletpurple: Extra Curricular:

Ancient Studies | Earth Magic

:bulletpurple: Pet: Salju, a mix breed of Persian and Siamese cats, now 2 years old. Her father took him while he was in Indonesia. The previous owner, who was his colleague, passed away and so Lorcan has taken care of the cat ever since. He gave Salju to Vera for her thirteenth birthday because apparently the cat has a soft spot for Vera and she also shows to have a weird connection to the cat. Salju is a cat full of curiosity and pride. He always walks around the castle and comes and goes like he owns the place. He also never lets anyone touch him other than Vera and Lorcan; he often let Vera and her dad pet him three times a day, or according to his moods. Even so, he is a very interesting and precious companion for Vera. He always knows when she is about to begin her own exploring journeys – all of a sudden he will appear from nowhere and accompany her in his expedition. He always warns Vera for incoming threats, and he also sometimes leads her to new paths. When danger comes, he will not aid her to fight, but instead he will show her good places for her to escape. When they are both fighting, he always brings a dead butterfly to her bed to punish her, or he will make himself as her pillow to show her that he feels sorry. She is Vera’s closest friend since the girl sets foot in Hogwarts.

:bulletpurple: Extras:

:star: Solange is a given name from her grandfather, it means light. In hope that she will always walk on the path of light, or if she’s lost then she will eventually return to the bright side. Both her surnames are associate with Rose. And her mother named her Verania based on the discovery she found three months before she gave birth; three fossils that consisted of a mother and her two daughters --Vera and Nia.

:star: Her first crush in Hogwarts is a Gryffindor’s boy.

:star: When feeling down, she always creates a small flower in her hand and blows it away, and when she’s feeling very happy, small flowers always appears near her and shows off her feelings to the world. When she’s shy, a pink flower will pop out on her hair.

:star: She always carry around her small thermos--which store her Vanilla milk shake with insane amount of sugar in it (to keep her awake), and a thick journal with secret information she retrieved that could only open by her and… a certain someone. There’s a heart lock in it *wink*

:star: She always spend at least a whole week with her grandparents from her father’s side in summer vacation at their ranch in Montana.

:star: She’s great with most offensive spells because she trains them hard to prepare her if she needs to engage with someone who violates the books. She also trains regularly to be better in protection and unlocking charms, jinxs or hexes, that are going to be very useful to help her in her exploration.

:star: She can climb trees or lock pick easily thanks to Dillon’s teaching. That boy also taught her in how to defend herself from bad guys.
